So I’ve had this really nice horizontal egg holder (2nd photo, I think?) for a while now. It holds 36 eggs and I love it, especially since my spare fridge is possessed by an evil deity that freezes fresh eggs for fun.🤬But then I saw THIS egg holder.I really liked that I could utilize a door shelf for eggs and literally free up 1/2 a shelf. I had to order it.It’s a great gadget, really. The shelves fold up, so as you exhaust eggs from the top level, you can fold the empty shelf up and easily access the next row of eggs. Genius! The eggs sit securely in their eggholes. I’ve only used large eggs in my holder so far, since I can’t afford XL eggs anymore. And even if I could they’re always sold out anyway. But I digress… back to my review.I have this thing called a Butter Cutter and it just so happens to fit perfectly in front of the vertical egg holder, allowing the fridge door to be opened & closed the way it always has. Without the Butter Cutter there is a gap between the egg holder and the edge of the door shelf allowing the egg holder to slide during opening/closing… I didn’t lose any eggs, but I definitely like the holder better when it’s not free-moving.It’s kind of a bummer that the manufacturer couldn’t design this holder to accommodate a quantity of eggs divisible by 12 (as they’re sold) but 2 days worth of breakfast takes care of the eggs that don’t fit. I don’t think that’s worth docking a star, because the space I just recouped by moving eggs to vertical storage pleases me immensely. This is probably the most exciting thing in my refrigerator right now, and I have some really good sauces, leftovers and even some caviar…. oh, and 30 large fresh eggs. Perfectly stored, vertically, in the door of my fridge. L🥚VE!
